Community Health Equity Initiative

Led by Dr. Debebe Gebreyohannes, PhD

This program mobilizes Ethiopian nurses and health professionals to address health disparities affecting the local Habesha community. It strengthens trust between healthcare systems and the Ethiopian community by delivering culturally competent health education through respected community professionals.

Outdoor Equity Initiative

Led by Haile, AfroHabesha Outdoors

The Outdoor Equity Initiative ensures Ethiopian and Habesha families have access to outdoor recreation and nature experiences. A cornerstone of this program is Ethiopian Ski Day, a signature event co-organized with AfroHabesha Outdoors, founded by Haile and Yeti, who fell in love with Colorado's mountains after moving from Ethiopia.
